Christmas Markets in Bohemia - Shopping for unique Christmas items, listening Christmas carols, sipping the mulled wine ...
The most popular of the Advent holidays was - and still is –St. Nicholas Day. It is the only one of the old Czech Advent holidays still celebrated today. It is a special time when children receive sweets and small gifts. On the evening of December 5, you may encounter many groups of people dressed up as St. Nicholas, an angel, and a devil - always the three traveling together. St. Nicholas Eve is always a wonderful treat, especially on Prague's Old Town Square.
PRAGUE - Czech Republic Christmas markets consist of rows of brightly decorated wooden huts, selling Czech handicrafts, hot food and warm drinks. Outdoor Christmas shopping is much easier with a cup of hot wine in your hand! Christmas stocking fillers can be found there, such as a variety of Czech glass, wooden toys, scented candles, Christmas tree ornaments, handmade jewelry and, of course, puppets, always puppets!
