Day 1 – Tuesday 10

Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation. (Airline tickets require separate purchase).

 

Day 2 – Wedesday 11  (D)         Prague - 2 nights

The tour starts today from your hotel in PRAGUE. Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or start discovering Prague. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a WELCOME DINNER in the local restaurant.

 

Day 3 - Thursday 12                      (B, L)     Brno - 3 nights

Begin your day with a walking tour featuring the 1,000-year-old Hradčany Castle area, with the former Royal Palace, the imposing St. Vítus Cathedral, and the colorful Golden Lane. Then proceed to the 14th century Charles Bridge, one of Prague's loveliest and most characteristic sights with its 16 arches and 30 statues. Continue to the Old Town Square, enclosed by Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo style buildings before viewing Týn Church and its magnificent towers, the unique Astronomical Clock, St. Nicholas Cathedral and Old Town Hall. Rest of the day at leisure.

 

Day 4 - Friday 13            (B, L)     Brno - 3 nights

Morning transfer to BRNO. Guided, downtown city tour includes: Church of St. Jacob, Vegetable market, Cathedral of Ss. Peter & Paul; Spilberg Castle area, city center and more.

 

Day 5 – Saturday 14     (B, L)

After breakfast we’ll visit the Holíč Castle in SLOVAKIA.  The most important Holíč architectural monument is the Baroque - Classicist manor house with fortifications. It was built on the old foundations of a water castle and its appearance is the result of the reconstruction of a Renaissance anti -Turkish fortress from the 16th century. FOLKLORE FESTIVAL: Moravian-Slovak Year in Kyjov. PM continue to KYJOV to enjoy the Costumed procession in the town and other scheduled program.

 

Day 6 – Sunday 15   (B, L)           LAST DAY OF CELEBRATION        FOLKLORE FESTIVAL: Moravian-Slovak Year in Kyjov

Program consists of, among other programs, as well as actions that are repeated regularly every 4 years (e.g. brass band competition, maypole erection and maypole felling, traditional evening show, folk fair, parade in folk costumes from whole Kyjovsko, the Ride of kings and evening dances). Festival program in detail will be announced later.

 

Day 7 – Monday 16       (B, L)

Day trip to KROMĚŘÍŽ. In 1777, this town, located in Central Moravia became the seat of the bishops of Olomouc. The splendid Kroměříž chateau and its beautiful gardens are considered an especially attractive and well-preserved example of Baroque palatial and garden design. They played an important role in the development of Central European Baroque architecture of gardens and palaces. Guided city tour of adjoining colonnade and beautiful gardens. PM continue to OLOMOUC - The second largest city after Prague, in the period 1187-1641, the capital of Moravia. The residence of bishops since 1063, the first archbishop installed in 1777. The most significant church is the Cathedral of St. Wenceslas from 1109. Guided city tour followed by a free time at leisure.

 

Day 8 - Tuesday 17        (B, L)     České Budějovice – 3 nights

After breakfast depart to the World Heritage town of TŘEBÍČ. The city was once a center of Jewish culture in Moravia. The uniquely preserved Jewish Quarter bears silent witness to the cohabitation between Jews and Christians in this city. After guided tour and some free time, we'll continue driving through countryside to TELČ. The town boasts one of the most beautiful squares to be found in the Czech Republic, if not Central Europe. Set in
a magnificent garden, the Renaissance Telč Chateau is an important historical monument. An UNESCO World Heritage Site. Free time for lunch and shopping. Later afternoon, we’ll arrive to our hotel in ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE.

 

Day 9 - Wednesday 18 (B, L)    

AM after touring the Budweiser / Budvar Brewery you’ll visit center of the town with its magnificent square, one of the largest in Europe. It is lined with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque houses with arcades and Samsonʼs Fountain in its center (from 1727). Later continue to medieval town of ČESKÝ KRUMLOV, the jewel of South Bohemia. Although over the past few years the town has transformed itself into a lively cultural and tourist center, it continues to create the impression of a place where time stopped several centuries ago. Among the attractions is the second largest castle complex in the Czech Republic, the oldest working Baroque theater in Europe and an open-air theater with a revolving auditorium. Guided city tour followed by free time for leisure and for shopping of beautiful Garnet jewelry.

 

Day 10 - Thursday 19   (B, L)

AM free time at leisure for a chance to visit some of the sites of the town, shopping or just relax. PM visit a “Windsor style” HLUBOKÁ Chateau. The chateau of was originally founded as a guarding castle in the mid 13th century by the Kings of Bohemia, and being royal property, it was frequently forfeited. In its 120 rooms there are valuable collections of paintings, tapestries, furniture and weapon collections mostly from the 17th and18th centuries.

 

Day 11 - Friday 20          (B, D)    PRAGUE - 3 nights

After breakfast depart to west Bohemian metropolis PILSEN. Pilsen is known for its famous Pilsen beer - Pilsner Urquell. The Town Hall is a good example of Bohemian Renaissance (1555-59). The gothic St. Bartholomewʼs Church (14th century) has the highest spire in Bohemia (103 m). Guided city tour includes the city center, monument dedicated to US Army for liberation the city in May 1945 - “Thank you America!” and other sites. PM continue to visit  RÜCKL CRYSTAL factory in NIŽBOR is on the schedule today. During the 45 minutes excursion you will get to know the individual stages of producing glass crystal by hand, i.e. the furnaces, processing, designing and polishing. A great opportunity for bargain shopping in factory store. PM continue to our hotel in PRAGUE. Rest of the day free.

 

Day 12 - Saturday 21    (B)

Free day to discover more favorite sites or an Optional trip to: LIDICE to visit a Memorial dedicated to the people of the village killed by the Nazis. PM free time at leisure in Prague. FAREWELL DINNER in the local restaurant.

 

Day 13 - Sunday 22       (B)

Enjoy a free day to further explore the sights of PRAGUE, or perhaps indulge in last minute shopping. There is music available everywhere and you may enjoy a concert. Perhaps, you’ll like to visit with friends, relatives or visit your ancestral village - we can arrange for you an English speaking driver who will take you there.

 

Day 14 – Monday 23

After breakfast, your tour ends this morning, leaving you with pleasant memories of a wonderful vacation.
