Day 2 – Saturday 4 (D) PRAGUE - 2 nights
Arrive at the PRAGUE airport. Free time to relax or start to visit Christmas markets in Prague on your own, which spring up all over the city. This is an excellent opportunity for genuine Czech Christmas decorations and gift shopping. The Christmas season, the most magical time of year, has an unforgettable atmosphere in Prague. The flashiest and biggest Christmas Market you’ll most likely see is the one on Old Town Square. It’s got a decorated Christmas tree, a petting zoo, a stage for song and dance presentations usually performed by adorable small children, a viewing platform, and all the usual stalls selling trinkets, comforting hot drinks, and holiday snacks. Welcome dinner.
Day 3 - Sunday 5 (B, L)
Advent Holiday - Meet St. Nicholas, the Angel representing Good, and the Devil representing Evil. Start your morning with a guided city tour. Immerse yourself in Czech Christmas culture on a tour of Prague with our local guide. Learn about traditions, and stop by the best Christmas markets in the city. What are you supposed to do in these markets? Eat! Drink! Be merry! The traditional choice is mulled wine, but if you’ve got a serious sweet tooth, try the Medovina or Czech honey wine. For the non-alcoholically inclined, there are delicious warm apple or pear ciders.
Day 4 - Monday 6 (B, L) ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE – 2 nights
AM, free time. PM, depart to ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE. The royal town was founded in 1265. In the center of the city is a magnificent square, one of the largest in Europe. Naturally, you will find traditional Christmas markets there. From November 26 to December 23, Přemysl Otakar II Square in České Budějovice will be the place to see traditional crafts and customs in action. Here, you can try lots of good things to eat and drink, listen to carols, or buy gifts. All these nice Advent activities are enriched by listening to buglers and pipers or by watching folklore groups.
Day 5 - Tuesday 7 (B, L)
Day trip to ČESKÝ KRUMLOV. In Český Krumlov, you can enjoy the picturesque streets, the traditional Czech Advent market with lots of scented good things to eat, Christmas concerts, and a live nativity scene. Guided city tour followed by Garnet jewelry & Christmas shopping in the Christmas Market in the town and around the Castle. PM, continue to visit Christmas Markets in LINZ / Austria.
