Day 1 – Thursday 10
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation. (Airline tickets require a separate purchase.)
Day 2 – Friday 11 (D) PRAGUE - 3 nights
The tour starts today from your hotel in PRAGUE. Begin your afternoon with a walking tour to Old Town Square, enclosed by Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo-style buildings, before viewing Týn Church and its magnificent towers, the unique Astronomical Clock, St. Nicholas Cathedral, and Old Town Hall. Continue to the 14th-century Charles Bridge, one of Prague's loveliest and most characteristic sights, with its 16 arches and 30 statues. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a WELCOME DINNER in the local restaurant.
Day 3 – Saturday 12 (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll depart for KOLÍN to enjoy the INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF BRASS BAND MUSIC dedicated to the famous Czech composer & musician František Kmoch. Every year more than 3,000 musicians from all over Europe participate in this huge celebration. A great opportunity for picture and video taking.
Day 4 – Sunday 13 (B, L)
After breakfast, we will enjoy a day trip to KARLOVY VARY was founded by the Bohemian King Charles IV in the 14th century. The town has been recapturing its former glory with its Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings being restored, and people rediscovering all the town has to offer. Tour the colonnade and taste the water from the 12 curative thermal mineral springs. Admire the beauty of both the historic and modern colonnades. PM, continue to MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNĚ - the second-largest spa resort in the Czech Republic was founded in the last century. Carefully arranged large parks, spa forests, specific architecture, flourishing cultural and social life. Those are the features to characterize this beautiful town. Of the 140 mineral springs in the town, 39 are used for treating kidney, respiratory, and urinary disorders. Tour the Colonnade and view the “Singing Fountain” in front of the main colonnade. Free time at leisure.
Day 5 – Monday 14 (B, L) BRNO- 4 nights
AM, depart to visit Caesar Glass Works. The glassworks produces hand-blown and cut 24% lead oxide crystal. The combination of old proven tradition with purely modern designs by renowned artists creates an exceptionally noble crystal beauty, typical for its place of origin. The cased crystal – pure crystal base of the product, which is covered by a layer of colored crystal during production at high temperatures, creates the unique effect of design by contrasting the color, crystal, and light. A great opportunity for shopping. PM, continue to BRNO. Guided city tour includes the Church of St. Jacob, the Vegetable Market, and the Cathedral of Ss. Peter & Paul; Spilberg Castle area, city center, and more.
Day 6 - Tuesday 15 (B, L)
AM trip to KROMĚŘÍŽ. In 1777, this town, located in Central Moravia, became the seat of the bishops of Olomouc. You’ll visit the splendid Kroměříž chateau and its beautiful gardens, which are considered a beautiful and well-preserved example of Baroque palatial and garden design. They played a significant role in the development of Central European Baroque architecture, particularly in the design of gardens and palaces. Guided city tour of the adjoining colonnade and beautiful gardens. PM, continue to OLOMOUC - The second largest city after Prague, in the period 1187-1641, the capital of Moravia. The residence of bishops since 1063, the first archbishop was installed in 1777. The most significant are the Cathedral of St. Wenceslas from 1109 and the Holy Trinity Column from 1716-1754. Guided city tour.
Day 7 - Wednesday 16 (B, L)
Morning, depart to Moravian Karst - Punkva caves with fabulous formations of stalactites and stalagmites, fairy-tale domes. This is the main attraction in the region. The abyss is 138 m deep and is one of the natural wonders of the country, which will surprise every visitor. Boat ride on the underground river Punkva & with cable car on the top of Macocha Abyss.
Day 8 - Thursday 17 (B, L)
Day trip to visit Lednice Chateau - The rich construction development of the present Romantic building began as early as the Middle Ages. The present appearance of Lednice is a result of the Neo-Gothic reconstruction of 1846 - 1858. All the rooms are magnificent, but most of all the library, with its splendid stairs and imposing entrance hall with beautiful ceilings and lower facings of Turquoise, Red, and Blue. PM, continue to visit the Hodonín Chateau and Museum of the first Czechoslovak president T. G. Masaryk. The next stop will be in Holíč Castle in SLOVAKIA. The most important Holíč architectural monument is the Baroque - Classicist manor house with fortifications. It was built on the old foundations of a water castle and its appearance is the result of the reconstruction of a Renaissance anti-Turkish fortress from the 16th century. Between 1749 and 1754, the Habsburgs had the original four-winged fortress rebuilt into a magnificent summer residence. In 1918, the manor became the property of the state and is currently being renovated.
Day 9 – Friday 18 (B, L) ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE - 3 nights
Before Noon, depart for TELČ. The town consists of a long square lined with arcades and the church of St. James from the 14th century. The Chateau complex is the most impressive architecture in the region. Free time/lunch. PM, continue to ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE – the hometown of the original Budweiser beer. In the city center of the town is a magnificent square, one of the largest in Europe. It is lined with Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque houses with arcades, and Samsonʼs Fountain in its center. PM, visit the original Budweiser Brewery, and sample the beer. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 10 – Saturday 19 & Day 11 – Sunday 20 (B, L) “Five-Petalled Rose Celebrations
Both days visit the Medieval town of ČESKÝ KRUMLOV to enjoy the festival, transforming the town into a Renaissance time once again. The festival harkens back to the time of the greatest development in Český Krumlov (1570). Day and night, visitors are treated to concerts, dances, daredevil performances, duels, theatrical performances, arts and crafts, farmer’s markets, processions of noble ladies and gentlemen, knights, and jugglers - a Medieval Feast, Markets, and much more not to miss!
Day 12 – Monday 21 (B)
Transfer to PILSEN. PM city tour includes the city center, “Thank you America!” monument dedicated to the George S. Patton - 3rd Army for the liberation of the city in May 1945, St. Bartholomew church, and other places. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 13 - Tuesday 22 (B)
AM free time at leisure. PM transfer to Prague. The evening is reserved for the Folklore Show/dinner. Dancers and musicians dressed in traditional costumes will entertain, excite, and amuse you during two and a half hours of performance while you enjoy unlimited beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages.
Day 14 – Wednesday 23
Enjoy a free day to further explore the sights of PRAGUE, or perhaps indulge in last-minute shopping for some wonderful bargains, including the world-famous Bohemian crystal, garnet jewelry, souvenirs, and many handicrafts. There is music available everywhere, and you may enjoy a concert.
Day 15 – Thursday 24
After breakfast, your tour ends this morning, leaving you with pleasant memories of a wonderful vacation. Depart to Prague Airport – going home!
