DAILY TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1 – Thursday, May 28
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation. (Airline tickets require a separate purchase.)
Day 2 - Friday 29 (D) PRAGUE - 2 night
Arrive in PRAGUE, Czech Republic Transfer to the center of the town and check into your hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a WELCOME DINNER in the local restaurant.
Day 3 – Saturday 30 (B, L)
Begin this day with a walking tour featuring the 1,000-year-old Hradčany Castle area, with the former Royal Palace, the imposing St.Vítus Cathedral, and the colorful Golden Lane. Then proceed to the 14th-century Charles Bridge, one of Prague's loveliest and most characteristic sights, with its 16 arches and 30 statues. Continue to the Old Town Square, enclosed by Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo style buildings, before viewing Týn Church and its magnificent towers, the unique Astronomical Clock, St. Nicholas Cathedral, and Old Town Hall. The remainder of your afternoon and evening is free.
Day 4 – Sunday 31 (B, L) Pilsen - 2 nights
After breakfast, depart for the western Bohemian metropolis of Pilsen. This West Bohemian metropolis with 170,000 inhabitants is the fourth largest city in the Czech Republic. Its historical predecessor was a former watch castle dating back to the 10th century. Pilsen is known for its famous Pilsen beer, Pilsner Urquell. The historical core of the town, which has kept its original regular ground plan, has two-story underground passages open to the public. The Town Hall is a good example of the Bohemian Renaissance (1555-59). The Gothic St. Bartholomewʼs Church (14th century) has the highest spire in Bohemia (103 m). In a former Franciscan monastery dating back to approximately 1300, there is an exposition of Gothic art. Guided city tour includes the city center, a monument dedicated to the US Army for liberating the city in May 1945 -“Thank you, America!” and other sites. Rest of the day at leisure. You may shop for various souvenirs, or you’ll have a chance to visit the second-largest Synagogue in Europe.
Day 5 - Monday, June 1 (B, L)
Day trip to MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNĚ and KARLOVY VARY, the renowned spa resorts in the Czech Republic. Carefully arranged large parks, spa forests, specific architecture, and flourishing cultural and social life. Those are the features to characterize this beautiful MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNĚ town. Of the 140 mineral springs in the city, 39 are used for treating kidney, respiratory, and urinary disorders. Tour the Colonnade and the main spa buildings, and view the “Singing fountain” in front of the main colonnade. PM, continue to visit KARLOVY VARY, which the Bohemian King Charles IV founded in the 14th century. The town has been recapturing its former glory with its restored Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings. Tour the colonnade and taste the water from the 12 curative thermal mineral springs. Admire the beauty of both the historic and modern colonnades. Free time at leisure.
Day 6 - Tuesday 2 (B, L) Č. Budějovice - 2 nights
After breakfast, depart Pilsen for South Bohemian Metropolis - ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE. On the way, we’ll stop at PÍSEK - a royal town from 1254, the first evidence of its settlement dates from the 8th century. One of the main attractions of the city is the stone bridge. This bridge is the oldest still existing stone bridge in the whole Czech Republic. The exact building date of the bridge is unknown, but it was certainly constructed before the Charles Bridge in Prague. Later, PM, arrival at our hotel. Free time.
Day 7 - Wednesday 3 (B, L)
After breakfast, depart for a day trip to the medieval town of ČESKÝ KRUMLOV, the jewel of South Bohemia, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site universally recognized as a unique remnant of historic urbanism. The old town preserves, virtually intact
and still vital, an unparalleled ensemble of Gothic,Renaissance, and Baroque structures. Among the attractions is the second largest castle complex in the Czech Republic, the oldest working Baroque theater in Europe, and an open-air theater with a
revolving auditorium. Guided city tour followed by free time for leisure/shopping of beautiful Bohemian Garnets, or a chance to visit the chateau, or further explore the town.
Day 8 - Thursday 4 (B, L) - Brno - 2 nights
The little town of TELČ is our first stop on the way to Brno. It is encircled with Renaissance gables and arcades, with a remarkable historical center and a local Chateau. The center of the town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Free time for shopping and lunch. PM Transfer to our hotel in BRNO. Guided city tour includes the historical center of the town, the Church of St. Jacob, Old City Hall, Vegetable Market, and more.
Day 9 - Friday 5 (B, L)
Day trip to KROMĚŘÍŽ. In 1777, this town, located in Central Moravia, became the seat of the bishops of Olomouc.The splendid Kroměříž chateau and its beautiful gardens are considered an especially attractive and well-preserved example of Baroque
palatial and garden design. They played an important role in the development of Central European Baroque architecture of gardens and palaces. Guided city tour of the adjoining colonnade and beautiful gardens. Free time at leisure.
Day 10 – Saturday 6 (B, D) - Prague - 2 nights
This morning we’ll depart BRNO to visit the largest museum of Czech National Costumes. It is the first and only museum in the Czech Republic that presents costumes from all costume areas of the Czech Republic. You’ll enjoy seeing a total of 260
complete costume mannequins in the museum, a total of over 4,000 thematic exhibits, over 100 pieces of period footwear, and much more. After arrival in Prague, you’ll enjoy free time at leisure. Evening is reserved for FAREWELL DINNER in a local restaurant.
Day 11 - Sunday 7 (B)
Enjoy a free day to further explore the sights of PRAGUE, or perhaps indulge in lastminute shopping for some wonderful bargains,including the world-famous Bohemian crystal, garnet jewelry, souvenirs, and many handicrafts.There is music available everywhere, and you may enjoy a concert.
Day 12 - Monday 8 (B)
After breakfast, your tour ends this morning, leaving you with pleasant memories of a wonderful vacation. Transfer to the Prague airport for your return home.
